Typically, I let my work speak for itself but this particular shoot was different from any other shoot I've ever had to date.
Ya see, I had the pleasure of photographing Jess & Sean's "Save The Dates," over a decade ago (true story). For them to think of me 10 years later - is the ultimate compliment. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity! To say I was nervous would be a bit of an understatement. For years, my bread and butter had been around shooting events, music festivals and boudoir. Photographing maternity (twins never the less) - was a new challenge and a welcomed one at that. Sean & Jess didn't skip a beat - they were still the laid back, fun couple I had remembered them to be. They gave me creative freedom and in return, I gave them these - I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a wonky year... in an effort to combat all the fuckery that's transpired, I decided to do what I do best: spew all my emotions onto a blank canvas. This is an extremely tortured piece and a direct reflection of how I view 2020; everything from Corona, social injustice, the election, the demise of women's rights, political hypocrisy, and everything and anything in between. Here I present to you the largest artwork I've ever been commissioned to paint, ranking in at 6 ft long, I give you: RONA 2020. Also, I'd be remiss not to add: I am incredibly grateful to be commissioned to paint these artworks...this is flattery in it's truest of forms...thank you for all of your continued love and support, it means the world to me. Onward!
